Where to wander : Belongil Beach

Leave yourself an hour before sunset to take a walk along Belongil beach, where you’ll meet local dog owners and their pups. Where to wander : Lighthouse Rainforest walk

A different lighthouse walk experience, up the bush track rather than the beach, this is a peaceful, meditative hike for those wanting to immerse themselves in nature. Head up Lee Lane opposite the Captain Cook Lookout and end up at the lighthouse before coming back down. (Approx 2hrs return from the Atlantic). Where to wander : The Pass Lookout

A long, leisurely stroll along the beach, best taken at low tide. Walk from the Atlantic along Main Beach onto Clarke’s, and end up at The Pass. Climb the stairway to Fisherman’s Lookout for a panoramic ocean view and watch the surfers below take on one of Byron’s busiest surf breaks. (Approx 2.1km; 1hr round-trip from the Atlantic).
