Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places on earth this is Byron Bay’s most exclusive beachfront suburb. Surrounded by holiday dream homes this is where the rich and famous come to play. Even though extremely popular there is something gentle about Wategos. Maybe it’s the laidback long boarders who flock to this break or the calming lush tropical rainforest that skirt the headlands scenic walk. Whatever it is that gives Watego’s it’s magic, don’t miss being a part of it
If privacy is what your after take the lighthouse walk to Little Wategos. Accessible only by foot this quiet and secluded beach sits at the foot of the lighthouse. North facing it’s protected making it the idyllic place to spend the day sunbathing and swimming. For an unforgettable experience head there on sunset and watch the moon rise over the most easterly point of Australia as whales bask in its light.
